Greg has more than twenty years of experience in the management of fixed income portfolios, with demonstrated success across a number of industries (pension, insurance, mutual fund, high net worth) and products (total return, asset/liability, income-oriented). His expertise lies in the development of broad-sector strategies and in the direction of quantitative risk-management strategies, with a particular focus on credit-based strtaegies. As such, he directs the investment committee and portfolio management teams at Sovereign Advisers with respect to broad market views, strategies and implementation. Prior to joining Sovereign Advisers in 1999, he served as a Senior Portfolio Manager for the fixed-income divisions of Bank of America, Trusco Capital Management and Barnett Banks, where he was responsible for the management of fixed-income mutual funds and large institutional portfolios. He earned his BA degree in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he also pursued post-graduate studies in economics and finance. Greg is actively involved in the economics and finacial communities, both locally and nationally. With the National Association of Business Economics, he is a member of the Financial and International Roundtables, a member of the New York Chapter and a Board member of the Charlotte Economics Club, the local chapter of the NABE. In addition, he is a participant on the World Affairs Council of Charlotte as well as an affiliated member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of North Carolina. Outside the office, Greg devotes his time to his daughters, the low country, golf and the First Tee Program of Charlotte.
